But what about women who actually work at Mediclinic City Hospital? With a large female workforce and a DHCC law in which women are entitled to 45 days’ maternity leave, at any one time the hospital has a significant number of breastfeeding mothers returning to work. Mediclinic City Hospital aims to provide as supportive an environment for its breastfeeding staff as it does its patients. Employees have full freedom to pump or breastfeed at work as and when needed, in a clean environment safe from potentially hazardous waste and chemicals, and there are refrigerated areas for the storage of breast milk. There are also several rooms dedicated to breastfeeding mothers where women, both staff and patients, may feed in comfort and privacy if they wish.

Mediclinic City Hospital believes that a balance between the work and family life of its staff improves the health and wellbeing of its workforce and leads to better all-round productivity. We are proud to support the rights of breastfeeding mothers at work and urge other businesses to do the same.
