The other reason is that the gas is low and needs topping up. Basically gas/water is freezing in the pipe - it's not a major issue. Don't have it so cold or on as long.
It shouldn't be a major issue - we have had the same problem several times over the years. I would recommend "Jim Will FIx It" to do any works on your AC. I have had them a few times recently and they are AMAZING. Worth every cent.
Just to say that Emrill came this afternoon (very quick). They said it was down to blocked pipes caused by too much food going down the sink! Anyway, seems to be sorted and only cost 200dhs so fingers crossed!
Thanks ladies. Phew - sounds like it should be fairly easy to fix and isn't a big mechanical issue etc. Most companies charge 300dhs for filter cleaning so fingers crossed that will do the trick. It's pretty much on at 24 or 25c all day but there have been a few occasions the window has been left open for 20 mins or laterly so I think possibly that's responsible.
When this has happened to us we have been told that the filters are dirty and need cleaning. The engine/pump is working so hard it is freezing over which is causing the leak. Should be as simple as cleaning the filters.
It is possible if the AC is on 24/7 that some ice has formed, which is what is leaking. You can try turning it off for a few hours while you are out and it may be Ok. Also make sure the filters are clean and there is no blockage. You might need to get the professionals in for a complete service...
We usually get ours serviced just before the summer as they have been off all winter.
We have an a/c leak in our kitchen - it's quite bad - seems to start once we switch the a/c off. Does anyone know what causes the a/c to leak and how and what sort of a repair bill are we looking at?? We are due to move out in a few days and unfortunately have to pay maintenance ourselves.
Thx
Naughty I know, but if you are moving out in a few days and can manage with the AC off just leave it. We had one in our kitchen the LL kept putting off fixing so we just used towels for a week or so until we left.
Its is as MI says, its water defrosting. The unit is dirty and clogged up and freezes.
