Would like to go somewhere different for a friends farewell.

Somewhere to have a dance, a drink....somewhere fun!

So sick of Dubai nightclubs......can't get a seat, minimum spend, same old **** music.

Want more like a pub scene.....is this the right place?

Thanks.

I love Rock Bottoms BD, it is great fun and the new band is fantastic! Best I've seen in a long time! Haha... Just what I thought when we went there maybe 2 months ago. If you have a big group in the right 'mood' it's good fun. Reminds me of a bar back home we use to frequent (not so often).

Thanks ladies for the replies.....mixed reviews though. I used to love Jam Base but the last 12 months have been a disappointment (music wise). They used to have a band that was fronted by a black lady with an incredible voice and the dance floor was always packed. Lately it's been a reggae band and I haven't been that impressed, certainly didn't inspire me to dance (which is not hard). The DJ music was the best part. Not sure what to do....want a good dance but don't want a night club?

I would stay away from Rock bottom (burDubai) too! I have never managed to really enjoy myself there. Always seems like there are too many creeps that have no respect for boundries. Had a guy put his hand up my skirt once, another time a guy punched my friend because we were laughing at something else (but he must have had too much to drink and very paranoid), tried to stop the fight only to get kicked in the head by the same guy......have stayed far away from the bur dubai RB since.... I love Irish village! lots of seating, great vibe, love the band !!! but thats just me :)

RB is a tad on the chaotic side particualrly on the weekend. Last time i went i couldnt move, couldnt get to the bar, no space to have a dance. I prefer Jam Base in Madinat, theres seating and a good defined dancefloor, food is good and the band (last time i went) played everything fro 70's up to 2012 music. Really like it in there. Crown and Lion is good too and food is fab. Bidi Bondi i dont like, think its overdone and its ok for a beer if you live on the palm, but i wouldnt go out of my way to go there, food was rubbish last time we went. Pub scene you could try the Underground at Habtoor Grand, but stay away on football match days as its really busy.

Haven't been to Bur Dubai but if it's like the one in Tecom, then it is no way a pub scene kind of place. For pubs, I recommend Crown and Lion in Tecom, or Bidi Bondi in Palm Jumeirah. Although not so much for dancing in these places though. If it is a Friday or Thursday night, there's a little nice place across Crown and Lion (Byblos Hotel) in Tecom which is 1Up, it's in Boutique Hotel. It's a great party place on weekends, everyone's dancing and you can really let your hair down as not a lot of people know about the place so it's very unlikely to meet anyone that you won't want to be seeing you dancing like crazeeeh! ;-) edited by everythingnice on 27/02/2013

Sorry can't help with suggestions, we usually end up at RB for farewell parties too - I get jealous - when it's my turn so long as I end up at the airport it will be great!
