Hi, is JBR a good family environment?? if there is a family living in this area could you please give any advice or if anyone has actually seen any families living in this area, it would be good to know. Tks ;) Yes, each sector has 1 or two children creches or play centres for working parents or minding, and each sector usually has a large grassy 'gathering/communal' area with lots of nannies and tots running around the place, and other pockets where you will find kids skateboarding or racing around on wee bicycles. Its very safe as they can head down to play on that podium without any cars or bikes to knock them over, and very few strangers head up to the podium (so many stairs!) and generally feels safe. Each building also has its own pool often full of families and kids, and ditto the beach of course

We moved from renting in Shams to buying in Sadaf. Love it!!! I would recommend Mujan over Bahar. I have a friend living in Bahar who sys the quality is not that good. I think that whilst the development is going on Murjan would be the best end to live as the Ritz Carlton development is nearly finished. Also I believe getting in and out of Murjan capark, side exit especially very easy whereas Bahar you re in the middle of the tram development and it will get worse before it gets better. You have two big upper markets to house Tom, a gourme one which is great and Almaya. Go for Mujan!

We are in our fifth year living in Amwaj. We seem to be in a good position, spacious apartment, still have a sea view, don't hear the construction noise, good management, 2 supermarkets, spas, pharmacy, etc. all very close. Quite happy here. Only complaints I've heard about Murjan are that you can be disturbed by noise into the early hours by the disco at the Habtoor as it is not far away and getting into the car park at the weekends is a problem because of slow moving traffic. Saying that, you will hear some noise whichever sector you choose to live in. The call to prayer can be a little loud in some sectors. Some apartments facing the main road have the tramway going on and others overlooking the Walk have construction opposite Bahar, Rimal, Shams and Amwaj, so you do need to choose your apartment carefully. But all in all, we think JBR is a great place to live. HTH edited by amelia on 05/09/2012 great information, Thank you so much amelia :)

There is a thread about this http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=185677 I have stayed in almost every sector except Murjan although I had friends there and they loved it. Murjan and Shams are quieter as they are at the ends of the Walk. I was in Bahar 4 and loved it. I think the overall quality if finishes in Bahar is better than the other blocks and its right in the heart of everything and has its own well stocked supermarket. The only issue with Jbr is that they are working on the beach area opposite Rimal and Amwaj which has disturbed the view of the sea. Thank you hilsbils for the info and the link, i'll check that thread for sure :)
