We’ve been craving good crab.

Aprons & Hammers’ original location or Claw at Souk Al-Bahar. Which one do you like better and why?

How much should we be looking at spending at a dinner for 2 at either of these locations?

I agree 100%. A&H on the old Dhow makes an experience not just dinner.

We have always been a fan of the original boat setting Aprons and Hammers, but visited the new JBR location. Absolutely fabulous. Different vibe, but very nice as well. It will be added to our, "Go-to" guest locations. Very happy.

Thanks ladies for the prompt response!! I was actually already biased towards Aprons and Hammers because of the whole experience involved. But you girls just made the decision much easier for me! Thanks once again!! Have a great weekend ;) Just a note though - the service I thought can be a bit lax, and they have selective hearing, so double check they hear what you want!

Really sorry about your terrible experience heycutie! I’ve heard that Claws is a bummer with tables reservations! you have to be lucky to find a reservation at any given time. edited by fazkcherry on 15/05/2014

We tried CLAW once and we'll never go back. They kept us waiting almost 2 hours for a table for 4, while the restaurant sat empty with huge tables being reserved for large parties. They finally seated us in the bar area, not mentioning that they allow smoking in the bar area. After about half an hour, we were so engulfed in cigarette smoke around us, we had to leave. What a miserable night.

Aprons and Hammers is great, go to the one at the the Mina Seyahi. Took my mum and sister when they visited last month. The novelty of the boat setting is great, and I have never been able to fault the food or service. Get a couple of buckets to share, plus drinks approx AED300 for 2.

apron and hammers 100%. claw i thought was an overpriced TGI Fridays... i went to A&H last week, its not cheap but the food it amazing. for a bucket of lobster it was 200dhs plus slides. prawns were the same and mussels were 150dhs i think.

Honestly for authenticity, and sitting on the ocean, I would go for Aprons.
