So, today we hope to seal the deal on a property in Saheel. Would anyone be willing to give me an idea of what our DEWA bill is likely to be like over the summer and winter months.
Also, has anyone managed to fit stairgates sucessfully?

TIA

If you put him on the waiting list now you should stand a good chance. The one over the road at the Polo Club is also very good. I think it's run by Jebel Ali Village Nurseries. Didnt know there was another one..thanks. Are they open, do you know? May just pop round and have a look and put his name down at one. Yes, the polo club one is open, they are running summer camp there - tel no. 043689882. My wee one has been there for the past 2 years and I can thoroughly recommend it and very convenient location -

Plum2. Have a huge favour to ask of you... Or any other Saheel ladies. Do you know whatthe width and drop of the curtains in the room next to the kitchen (dining) and in the bedrooms is? I initially said I'd stick with the curtains in the villa, but I'm now thinking of taking my own and i want an idea of how many of mine will fit and how many I will still have to buy. Need to make a decision asap otherwise I'd get the agent to meet me there and let me measure. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Not sure whether the polo club one is still open sorry. If you look on the JAV Nursery website there is probably a phone number you can try. There is also Building Blocks just past Spinneys up in Motor City and another one at Al Waha on the corner of the by-pass Rd.

Hmmm... I am clueless, but then that's no surprise. I'm good at remembering faces thoug so if I saw you I'm sure I'd recall. Will get in touch. All signed up now. Eek!!!! So exciting. It's going to be great cycling to school in the winter but I'm much more excited about the extra few minutes we get to sleep-in in the mornings before a mad dash to school. Another question, DS 2 is 8 months, I'd like to put him into the nursery in Saheel (when he's around 2 years) ...is there a crazy waiting list or do you think we'd get him in.

Hi Kells Bells I think I may have met you at one of Sandfly's children's parties. Get her to give you my number. Look forward to seeing you in September. I'm away next Tuesday and back 3 Sept. Best of luck with the move. How nice to be able to walk to school in the cooler weather :) Plum edited by plum2 on 06/07/2011

Oh btw, it clamps onto the poles, no drilling required, which is good when a rental.

I had a wooden stair gate made for our rental in Saheel, same stain as the steps, which your welcome to have if you want. I'm leaving Dubai so longer need it. It does have a little damage on one side but you don't see it.

Home in the day, keep AC's on but not too cold, got quite a bit of grass to water (hence my midnight panic and my first thing in the morning post on here;-) ) we really like the villa though, well actually- the location. Saheel st just a stones throw away from the pool and park and close to gate 4 (?) which is fab for getting DS to school. Babysitters....oh now I'm really excited!!! Will have to get in touch. Yes, I do know Sandfly ;-)

Hi, welcome to Saheel. I think DEWA bills vary hugely whether you are home during the day with AC on, whether you have a pool and how much garden there is to water. Our bill can be well under 2,000 in the winter but we have a pool and a large garden with lots of trees to water. The summer bills are obviously a lot bigger. I think we have a leaky pool at the moment which is under investigation so wouldn't like to shock you with our current bill - yikes! Which street will you be in? Yell if you need babysitters as I have 2 teenagers keen to work. Away from next week though for the rest of the hols. Plum (do you know Sandfly?)
