Thanks for the feedback. We're in an Alvorada B2 (the larger 4 bed) at the moment which I think is 4020sqft. DH wanted a B1 (3884sqft) but there weren't any available when we last moved. I am now leaning towards a Mirador Type 16 3458sqft or a Palmera Type A 2936sqft, the Alma is bigger inside than the Palmera and newer but I am not sure about the garden size, we're going to try and view some in any case to see what we think. Do you know if the Palmera's have showers in any of the bathrooms or are they all baths?

Hi Ruth, we are in a 2E in Alma and find it quite spacious (inside and out). There are 3 bedrooms, all good sizes plus another room upstairs that is plenty big enough for a study. We have a large desk and bookcase in ours and there is plenty of space. There is also a room downstairs that is enclosed that could be used as a study (bigger than the upstairs study). Our garden is quite big too, although when I walk around Alma I do see some much smaller than ours but they could be smaller villas? It might be worth contacting an agent so you can go and view one and see for yourselves. Its a great community and really good being so close to the shopping center and golf club.

Hi Ruth, I would say you are looking at 2 different types of budget there. above 200K with the alvorada and Mirador and below 200k with the palmera and Alma. I can only speak for the lower end of the budget but generally speaking Palmera Type A's have large gardens that go around the house so great for active dogs. If you chose a palmera that backs onto one of the paths, it's even better as they have gates out and it's great to walk the dogs.

DH and I are looking to downgrade our villa, we were having the villa paid for directly (so might as well max the allowance), but may now be getting a cash allowance instead so thought we'd save some money. Our basic needs are a reasonable sized garden (we have two large dogs), 3 bedrooms and a further room downstairs that needs to be enclosed to be used as a study as he works from home a lot and has far too many books to be scattered around. So I have narrowed it down to (in decreasing size order) Alvorada B1 (we are in a B2 atm the B1 was what we originally wanted but there weren't any available when we last moved). Mirador Type 16, Palmera Type A or Alma Type 1E or 2E. I was wondering if anyone was or has stayed in a Palmera or an Alma? What are the gardens like and are there any with reasonable sized gardens? I am particularly keen on an Alma due to the proximity of the centre (we only have one car) but DH says the gardens are too small and not private enough for the dogs to run about. Any feedback would be much appreciated, thanks. :-)
