No, I am not an Arabic speaker, that is why I cannot help my son. He continuously feels that he is falling behind the rest of the class (we only moved to Dubai in Sept, never learnt Arabic before).
School says: dont worry, nobody takes Arabic seriously ... :(
Still my son feels that he would love to show some knowledge and get a good school report, even in Arabic.
Personally i wouldn't worry about it if the school is not bothered. If you really wish to persue this there is a language school at the World trade centre that has good feedback re their Arabic.
Typical international school's attittude of not addressing their incapability to teach proper Arabic! it's a shame!
Living in an Arab country, I think it's very good for children to pick up the local spoken language & I agree with KHDA's measures taken to enhance Arabic education in schools.
I'm sorry I cannot offer you advice but wishing you good luck in your quest :)
How can you agree with their measures to enhance Arabic in schools when they have not addressed the curriculum issue, which they have admitted is a problem?

I am looking for a language school for my 9-year-old son for extra Arabic lessons at weekends (just to catch up with the rest of the class).
Any recommendations, please?
I have contacted Eton already.
Any other good ones out there? Any good/bad experience please?
thanks
