Re calpol best to carry your own sachets, not sure if they are available here, but I always get them in the uk and carry on every flight. Dd is now 6, and I still carry them(6+ though)

I fly EVERY time with BA with my 18 month too so can confidently answer your questions: 1) No whole milk ex LHR but not sure from DXB direction - you can definitely take your own through both airports and they may ask you to sample a taste of it ex LHR... 2) Book a bassinet position if you can anyway - they have 2 choices of infant carriers on board that are ONLY for the bassinet position seats - first is a cot that my 18 month would def not fit in so yours probably wouldnt either or the second option is a reclining chair seat that has adjustable positions that my LO fits into perfect and Im sure yours would too.... they will recommend the second option if your LO looks too big... BUT if you havent booked a bassinet position, you can simply use the extension seatbelt for take off and landing and have them on your lap which I always do before transferring him into the next door seat.... Some other tips - they wont reheat your food in their microwave as its against health and safety regulations UNLESS its ina baby jar which I think they are too old for.. the child meals are pretty decent though and Im sure your LO will chomp thru that unless you want to take some of your own food anyway... plus if you ahve an umbrella stroller and the flights not full, they can lable it to the gate and put it in a crew wardrobe if there is enough space on board... If you are lucky enough to travel club there are some super 'raid the larder' meals in the club kitchen that my LO loves - things like butternut cheesy pasta that they will happily heat up for you and mini tubs of ice cream etc.... Enjoy! Hope its a good flight x

Hi there I am travelling BA with an 18month old and I have booked him a seat but read on the website he needs a car seat. Just wondered if anyone knew if it is compulsory for him to have a car seat or can he just sit in the normal seat? Also, do BA provide car seats for the plane or do i have to take my own and if i have to take my own is a maxi cosi tobi acceptable? Also, does anyone know if they carry calpol and whole cow's milk on board or do i need to take my own? Have called BA Dubai with my queries but not sure the lady understood what i was asking! TIA
