Anyone else had problems today with mashreq bank card? DH just been paid and account topped up again (not before time!) and used card for grocery shopping this morning, but ever since the card has been refused, and ATM won't give account balance, online banking seems to be down and asks to try again later, and phone line for phone banking 'invalid number'...
Is this a wider problem?

phew, all working again - gave us a heart attack mid-bill-payment for my lunchtime pizza. Suspected it was payday/Friday shopping overloading the system, but the bank hanging on to the cash for a few extra hours fits in with my conspiracy-theorist husband's mentality... Happy spending ladies!

Although it doesn't seem to happen too often - it does happen, especially on a Friday and perhaps more so when salaries have been paid. I think it's a way for the banks to 'hold onto our money' for a few hours more - gaining them interest perhaps? Or as it's Friday - they will say it's 'mainenance'. Just my thoughts!!!

Yep, problems with my mashreq card too. I was at Mirdif Mall and a lot of people seemed to be having problems, not just those with mashreq. Hope it is fixed soon, I need money to go out tonight!
