get a cat - although many would argue that they do partake in a little torture first ;)

Killing is fine, I think OP wants a humane way to kill....the glue options for example makes them die a long drawn out painful death. There are options at Ace Hardware that are instant death ones.

Mice are like cockroaches - you may only see one, but there will be more ! Consider this: •A single female produces between 5-10 litters annually. •Each litter consist of 5-6 young that are able to reproduce at approximately 30 days of age. One mouse = many, many ,mice! Choithrams used to sell mouse traps, and the little grocery shops on places like Beach Road usually have them. Whatever trap you get, bait it with chocolate. And if it is a humane one, take it miles away or mouse will come back!

I'm sure you can get small cage traps from the animal souk that will shut as soon as the mouse enters. This way the mouse is unharmed and you can release it somewhere far far away. I have used these traps (larger of course) for stray cats as a part of a trap/neuter/release program. I can't say I have experience trapping mice though, the cats usually get to them first... where is far away ? They will then just go to somone elses house ! I agree with Izzy.. kill.

just kill it - they are vermin and spread disease. And being in dubai it was probably not a mouse but a rat.
