If you a re a crab lover - go to SPRING BAMBOO in Lamcy. Brilliant place and quite cheap. Have been to Pepper Crab at Grand Hyatt and its the fraction of the cost and probably tastes better.

I agree with The Mango Tree in Souk al Bahar. It is one of the few restaurants in Dubai that seems to be getting better with time instead of going downhill after a few months. Try and get a table outside and you will have a fantastic view of the fountain and the Burj Khalifa.

Check out timeoutdubai.com, they seem to have the best reviews in town and they seem to be spot on from my experience so far ;)

Hi Clair - try Zuma for sure. A very nice place in the DIFC and if you want really nice Lebanese food then the best one I have tired here is Al Shami Restaurant in Muraqqabat in Deira. Very generous helpings and excellent food though service could be a bit better.

Beachcombers at Jumeira Beach Hotel, get a table outside for a lovely romantic meal by the beach overlooking the Burj Al Arab.

Sorry, Clair, butting in here as I notice most of the replies refer to Oriental food - is there a good Mediterranean style seafood restaurant in Dubai at all, please? Very difficult to find really good restaurants in Dubai period. In my opinion, I think the Arabic, Indian and Oriental food is much better than the so called "restuarants" that serve european food. Coming from Switzerland as i have noticed in your previous posts, you are likely to be disappointed more often than not. The rapport Quality/price is also very bad in most places here. Sorry - It's just my opinion and I eat out here very little because after four years, I just know they never quite get it right.

Indigo at Grosvenor House Hotel - the chef has a Michelin star. Food amazing, service fantastic and ambience just lovely. Not a cheap option but if you like Indian food cooked to Michelin standards then this place is a must. Enjoy where ever you end up!
