Friends and I are planning to go to London in March. We won't need to pay for hotel because we'll be staying with a friend. However, how much should we budget if we want to do all the touristy things? Also, a list of places to go, things to see, restaurants to visit would be great! :D

Getting so excited to go!! Cannot wait!

There are too many thing to do in London and depends how long you are planning to stay there... If you trip is short, I suggest you take the BIG Bus tour!!! It covers most of the famous spots there!

Hi Amandashaks, I recently went to London... I took a bus tour which shows all the main areas of London...like Buckingham palace, towerbridge, etc...what you can also do i pick up a guide of the bus tour and read it - it will tell u all the areas so even if u dont want to pay for the tour, you know the places to visit and also there is a map so you can walk through the whole thing at your own pace... hope you enjoy

One of the things you need to think about is transport as getting about London can be pricey. You can get an Oyster card which has a maximum daily charge of 7 Pounds 80p or a weekly travel card. Individual tube journeys soon mount up and start at 4 Pounds 30 p for one trip!! This might be useful as well - 2 for 1 attractions. We used last summer in conjunction with train tickets. but check the site in general anyway..info on free stuff as all the tourist admissions soon mount up. http://www.daysoutguide.co.uk/ http://golondon.about.com/od/thingstodoinlondon/tp/free_London.htm Enjoy! edited by spongemonkey on 01/02/2012
