if you wanna deal with kids you def need a licence.you dont need an angry mom to go to the police. try convent garden in jbr, u dont need a licence and they give you a stand so you can showcase your items.should start now again,i think in october or november.

forget fujeirah free zone (Creative zone, virtuzone) unless you like endless frustration. See the other thread.

Great ladies, thanks for your input - much appreciated! Rose0284, how do you find about the organised craft fairs? I know JESS does a Xmas one, but for the others - could you shed some light?

You don't need a license to participate in the organized craft fairs (at least the ones I know about)...don't know about the home parties though.

Not hughly knowledgable on this, however I believe all companies in the UAE needs to have a business license, there are however loads of different kinds, and costs. Ideally you want a license with permission to have a virtual office, that way you can base yourself anywhere. This might help - http://www.setupdubaibusiness.com/dubai-virtual-office.html

Hi, Im looking to start my own small home based business here (selling kids items) and was wondering about the 'necessity' of having a business licence? Can anybody shed some light on this - all these fairs etc that are held in peoples homes - do those vendors operate with a licence? and is anybody bothered? Grateful for your 2 cents worth! Thanks very much.
