Wellington have said downright NO because we are Australian curriculum. Are the Wellington schools sister schools with same policies etc. or why do they have the same name? Isn't the one planned for the Palm Wellington as well? They have different curriculums, Wellington International is IB. BMAP if you try wellington primary of DSO you won't have a problem as they a NC of England.

I have the answer to your problems (possibly). Enroll children in British Curriculum new GEMS wellington Dubai silicon oasis school... Just a thought...this is the school that is openning in September isn't it? I am hoping we will get over there in time for your last term of the year - so April. Mind you, I am thinking that date may slip after some interactions with DH's employer in the last couple of days...

Oooh 8-o My own thread!!!! LOL Well that fullfils my ASW tendencies :-P Sticky Wicket thanks for thinking of me. I haven't checked out that school nor heard of those locations to live. THe communities sound good. I am going to devote today to getting a final shortlist of schools worked out so I will have a decent look at what you are suggesting. Unfortunately Claire is right. I have mistakenly married a Princess. There is NO WAY I am giving up my car. I mentioned to him yesterday that maybe this was the opportunity to get a little sporty 2 seater like before we had kids. THe seed is planted and from little things big things grow ;-). By next week he will think it is HIS idea! *evil laugh* But seriously, I am [u'>not [/u'>going to compromise on the school unless forced to by the school system to compromise. I don't mind having to drive my kids 20 mins or so to school (although I will have to have this one out with DH too as he doesn't want the kids on the road too long each day). So I am rethinking where we might live that is closer to Internet City to appease him, and checking schools around that area. Wellington have said downright NO because we are Australian curriculum. Will check Horizons today and a couple of others that were mentioned in the "schools close to internet city thread". I've been distracted the last few days because my dog had an accident (snapped her cruciate ligament) followed by surgery and there have been complications - I have been having to hand feed and syringe water in to her mouth - and now she has to have about an hour of physio a day! I think my stars must be misaligned at the moment or something. Thank you for thinking of me. xo

Yes her DH has grand ideas of how everything will be within 5 mins and that they will have one car (just wait until he finds out about late night meetings)....then there will be after school activities, and then school meetings in the evenings and so on. Her DH is in for a shocker. And when Late June hits, he will be at the car showroom in a flash. TBH I cannot imagine how they are planning to move here without a budget.

I have the answer to your problems (possibly). Enroll children in British Curriculum new GEMS wellington Dubai silicon oasis school, nursery to year 9 rolling on year after year. Rent a villa in Cedre villas (DSO) either 3, 4 or 5 bed, rents from 145 to 185 AED per annum, no housing fees, full facilities as large communities. There you will be able to walk kids or cycle to school, shops, doctors etc. Dh can drive to work and if you want to go further you can catch a bus (lots of routes) or get a taxi. Can;t remember where your DH is working but everywhere within 30 mins approx. Da Da!!! all problems solved!
