Sorry to barge in on your thread, i'm doing an endocrinology search also. My son has a rare and serious chromosome disorder and was seeing a very high up specialized consultant of endocrinology in the UK till we moved here. I am now searching to have him seen here and i'm very nervous about it as he needs highly monitored by someone who really knows their stuff and can prescribe high doses of testosterone. So far I have come up with
Amel El Tayeb - Healthcare city
M Belal Ashammaa - American Hospital
Nagwa Khalil Akasha - Bekhoul Hospital
Iyad Ksseiry - City Hospital
These are all just recommendations i have found from here on old threads on expatwoman as I'm reluctant to go onto a google search for finding a list of self advertised doctors.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated from anyone who knows of a highly qualified and a super intelligent doctor.
Thank you.

Hi Embo,
I think you mean insulin pump, right? I am not sure, but I would assume yes. You can always give Dr. El Tayeb's clinic a call and ask one of his nurses. The Diabetes and Endocrine Center 04 375 2345.
Tallyscot,
If you scroll down this thread, you will see who I recommend. I was a patient of Dr. Al Marashi for a couple of years, but have been exclusively seeing Dr. El Tayeb for the past 4 years or so. Nothing "wrong" with Dr. Al Marashi, but personally I prefer Dr. El Tayeb. In my experience, he is very knowledgeable, diligent, and extremely caring.
Choosing physicians for a chronic illness is not an easy decision, and it is also very personal (i.e. two people might have very different views of one doctor). Why not read through all the threads here again, and short-list 2 you feel might work for you. Go see both (and you can be upfront saying you are seeking a second opinion), then you can always decide which doctor you feel more comfortable with. HTH
Excellent advice .
we can have an off day and so can doctors.

I would contact
Dr Fatma Al Marashi, her name has been mentioned in previous postings. She has a very good reputation here and is interested in her patients. She treats many locals so may not be as well known with some expats, so do not let that put you off.
Phone number 04 429 7777 in Health Care city.
Good luck
