I would call KHDA, and then ask for the information in writing - and then reply to the school. What are the channels of communication available for customers? Customers can contact KHDA through the following channels: Telephone: 04-3640000 Email: [email protected] and [email protected] Walk-in: Block 8, Dubai Academic City, Al Ruwwayah http://www.khda.gov.ae/Pages/En/custfaqen.aspx

Oh, I bow to fairycakeyumm's superior knowledge :) Looks as if contact is the important thing :) What exactly does the KHDA say, FCY? I've found their site, but can't find anything directly pertaining to payment of school fees.

I've no idea of the legalities, but presumably this is what your children's school intends to do if they don't at least hear from you by Sunday. Have they already invoiced you for the September term/semester? Why don't you ring up the accounts department, or reply to the email to ask what's going on?

No they can't do that. My dd school try this every year. We reply by saying as per the kdha ? We will be paying on the first day of term. And confirming they have the deposit etc you trust that this would be acceptable.

Just had an email from my daughters school saying that if I dont have the fees into them by Sunday then they will be offering the spaces to another child on the waiting list. Before we finished up in June, I filled in a form to confirm they would be going back and also paid a 500 dhs deposit fee for each of them - this fee will be deducted from the school fees. Is this correct? Can they do this? I thought as long as the 500 was paid to confirm then as long as you paid fees in full on first day of term then this was ok? Thanks in advance.
