Chiller charges included - what does this mean?

In an Emaar building if the chiller charges are included in the rent, what does this mean? The agent I spoke to didn't seem sure!

I assume it is AC - but does it include the electricity that powers the AC? Just trying to figure out whether it would make a big difference to DEWA bills (therefore worth paying a bit more rent) or not really.

Thanks :)

It meams you're lucky! I pay dhs1300 monthly in addition to my DEWA for chiller alone even when I don't have it on over the winter.

Emaar will cover the chiller charges only. Not the electricity. Electricity is still consumed to run the AC in your apartment, even with district cooling. So, when you are using it you will still be paying for the electricity. My last apartment has AC included. My winter DEWA bills were 150-200dhs, my Summer DEWA bills were 300-350dhs. It is still saving you a lot of money to have your chiller for free. I pay upwards of 1000dhs per month for cooling and I don't even have it on very much. Thanks Plain-Jane - that seems to make sense! Looks like I needed to have it spelled out for me, just wanted to be sure that I understand what it is on about so I know whether it is a good deal or not so much.

AC included is a different proposition to chiller fees being paid. What is the difference? (sorry - stupidness continuing....)

MoYou will only pay DEWA which is pretty minimal. For a 1 bed, about 150 - 300dhs per month. Thanks - and sorry for continuing the stupid questions - so for example our DEWA bills are currently much higher in the summer than in the winter because AC is on constantly - if AC is included then DEWA bills remain the same throughout the year? pretty much.

lived in emaar properties for 4 years. chiller fee is a separate charge to DEWA. even if landlord pays the chiller fee, you still pay DEWA. AC included is a different proposition to chiller fees being paid.

I think when they advertise A/C free, it means that A/C is powered separately from the overall power of apartment and it won't be included into DEWA.
