Does anyone know whether this is permanent.

I live in the Marina near the mosque and what used to take me around 30 secs in car to get to JBR; exiting from Zumurud Tower and u-turn and over across the bridge now takes around 10 mins if that.

Having to go all the way to JLT, u-turn there and head to Marina...

Absolutely ridiculous!!

Has anyone got any more info about whether this turning will reopen?

Yes, and it's not the only u-turn that has been closed because of the tram. Or more to the point, because some drivers are so stupid that they can't even navigate a signal-controlled u-turn without crashing into one of the slowest forms of public transport known to man. I wouldn't expect these u-turns to be reopened any time soon, if ever.
