If visitors to Dubai enter Oman within 9 days there is no visa charge for Oman, not sure about reentry to the UAE. We did it with my sister and family at Xmas but they are on UK passports so no UAE visa charges anyway.
I thought that UAE & Oman had some sort of relationship that if you fly into Dubai and then go to visit Oman, you don't have to pay the visa? Did this change w/ the new Canadian/UAE visa rules?
Also, and again not sure if this is affected because of the new rules, but when we flew into Oman from DXB my mother (who is on a Japanese passport) did not have to pay any visa fee at either point.
I had no idea about this. Thanks for bringing it up, I'll ask around! Hope you're right, I really wanted to take them to Muscat (I haven't been yet either!).
You could go to Al-Ain, there's the Air show there from 2-5 feb, maybe go to Jebel Hafeet. The Al -Ain wildlife park and resort has some ongoing activities. Check out their website; www.awpr.ae

My parents are arriving next week. We had originally planned to go to Oman, but now with the new Canadian visas, it will be too expensive for the to get multi-entry visas.
Can you recommend some daytrips we can do within the UAE. They will be here for 3 weeks, and I would like to venture out of Dubai quite a bit with them.
Thanks a bunch!
