While at the checkout in Le Marche in AR today with my DD.I couldnt help overhear a heated voice at the next checkout to me.This woman who was paying was giving out to the cashier because there was no packer there to put her bags from the checkout into her trolley. In fairness the checkout girl was apolegetic saying there was no one around cos he was outside getting trollies...this woman got in a madness saying how could she be expected o put her bags ina trolley because she had a toddler with her who was sitting ina trolley:\:
Then the poor guy comes in wheeling trolleys and she marches over to him to tell him put the bags in which he does and this point my jaw is dropping.then she gives him grief about the way he puts the bags in...
then she goes to the supervisor to complain he comes over to the checkout to give the staff grief I was now in front of ELC to see what was going to happen and the woman spots me and says ask her how rude the staff were
so of course I told the woman she was probably on on the most rudest ignorant people I have ever seen so I said this to the supervisor!!!
Then she followed me out and said is because of people like you Dubai is turning the way it is
:\:.It took me all I could not too smack her one..
Im still gobsmacked

surely if you're that superior you send the maid to do the shoppping anyway.... *ducks* Hi. That's what I do. I don't see the problem with it. If I go grocery shopping, my children must come too so I prefer to send the maid alone with a list. I don't feel superior to my maid because she goes grocery shopping. In fact, I envy that because I'd love to do some child-free grocery shopping! Thats the only way to do it. Mine takes forever to get shopping done......I think 3 hours in C4 to fill a cart.... Well if you didn't spend so much time placing your pineapples the right way up and getting stuck bent over the trolley it would take half the time.I can't help it if I swing the wrong way

Could someone explain the term "chippie class warriors"? I think its mainly used in politics, when politicians from a working class background what to attack the posh ones. Not sure if its chippy as in chip shop or chippy as in Carpenter. It's chippy as in "chip on the shoulder".

Could someone explain the term "chippie class warriors"? Something to do with schools of fishmongers fighting on the beaches?

Could someone explain the term "chippie class warriors"? sorry no idea... something to do with carpenters and schools ?? That, my dear, is taking disingenuous to a truly impressive level.

I love having my groceries packed and if they are wheeled to my car and loaded in that is an even bigger treat. Have an hatred of doing it myself and if there is someone employed to help me I am thrilled. One of the pluses of Dubai for me. The only problem is that for each bagger who accompanies a person to his/her car, that is one customer who doesn't get a bagger! True, but I shop when it's quiet and only get help with a big monthly shop. The packers ask if I want help to the car and if it's not busy I say yes. As well as a tip I give the guy the discount voucher on the bottom of the Carrefour till receipt.
