Poor baby. Sounds like she's landed on her feet with you. Good luck getting a diagnosis. Do let us know how you get on.

Thanks ladies, sound advice will get a second vet opinon, no history on her she was left by her owners with friends when they went on holiday but they did not return so the friends were desperate to get rid of her, they told me she was three, I got her checked out when I first got her and the vet said she was at least five, had had puppies no more than two weeks previous and had the worst ear infection with mites he had ever seen ! so she has already been through enough.

Blood in urine or feces is not good - get a second vet opinion ASAP That's why I say get an x-ray to check there's nothing stuck in there. Doesn't sound very good does it :( poor doggy.

My old dog used to throw up alot. Avoid Pedigree as it's not very good animal food. Try feeding little and often. If she's a gulper, it's probably just all balling up in her stomach. I used to give a light food to my dog. It might be worth asking for an x-ray just to check there isn't a blockage of any kind.

Have you tried more than one vet for varying opinions? Without knowing (nor needing to know) where you've already been, The Vet Hospital, Safa Vets, Blue Oasis (and others) all get regular, excellent recommendations on here. For what it's worth, I had a German Shepherd who used to throw up a lot. Eventually he was diagnosed with a huge number of chronic allergies including lots of environmental allergens and beef! His vomiting was worst in spring when all of the plants were coming into flower. I found a premium dog food (no colours, no preservatives, no beef, low fat etc etc) which he did ok on, but I had to mix the dry food with porridge and stir a raw egg through it all. GROSS, but it kept his sensitive tummy settled. It could be allergies, it could be just that he's a glutton and his tummy doesn't like the un-chewed food, could be lots of things. ;) Fingers crossed a vet will find the answer for you soon. Do you have the contact info for the previous owners? Perhaps ask them about her history?

Hi all, I have a five year old french bulldog which I only got 11 weeks ago, she would not eat the food supplied by the previous owners so I stupidly put her on dry pedigree chum which after a while she was bringing up, plus she had what looked like blood in her pee so I took her to the vet, the blood turned out to be protein from the chum, he said her tummy was sore but nothing much more than that, so he changed her food to purina which again she did well on but the same has happened, so I took her back and again he checked her out no obvious problems tummy still sore but better and changed her food to one for dogs prone to gastro issues but I still have the same problem, I've tried rice and chicken thinking its the dry food she can not handle as it comes up whole she is greedy and does not chew, but the same. She is bright and does not seem unwell at all and has not lost weight but this must be distressing for her, and its winding my husband up a treat ! Has anyone had this problem or have any ideas that may help.... many thanks advance
