just a thought, but i would recommend always keeping a map in your car anyway....
its easier to have the gps points as a map these days dont help much since the roads change alot. i went 3 weeks ago and they are doing a bit of construction through RAK
No, although I've not done the drive you will pass fuel stations in RAK and if you fill up there you'll have no problem as it's not that far.
Thanks *thumbs up*.
Thanks jojo! And Sandy Dogg I was worried about the road to Khasab being a long one like the one to Muscat where I've read there are no petrol stations for miles and miles and you can run out :o)
Once your cross the border and get into oman ( khasab ) there are 2 petrol stations a shell petrol station and another one near the villages and on your way back you might want to fill up aswell as petrol is cheaper in oman than UAE!!!
I assume you mean Khasab in Oman?
Khasab is literally at the end of the road - you can't miss it. The tricky part, I find, is the drive through RAK. Emirates Rd leads you into RAK and you have to drive through the town north until you get onto the road that eventually leads you to the UAE/Oman border. Once on the Oman side, getting to Khasab is a breeze, just stick on the main road and when you drive through the villages, they all have signs pointing to Khasab. Not sure about petrol, I would get a full tank at a station on Emirates Rd. I'm sure you'll come across a petrol station once in Khasab too. We've been to Khasab and back on a full tank and went 4WDing for a couple of hours whilst there.
