lanarkwitch I'm curious where you landed in the Marina? We may be moving to a more "dog friendly" tower in the Marina in March so I'm looking at the new towers.

I know it is an old thread but would like to have further feedbacks on these towers as I will need to move out next month and hard to choose which tower is more suitable for me. Thanks

I live in the Marina in Al Fattan. It is a great location, next to Oasis Beach Hotel, and has great views. Plus easy access to all the shops and restaurants. However, the noise from the street level is so bad we won't be renewing our lease next year. We live on the 30th floor, but we might as well live on the 1st. I think that would be a problem for any of the apartments on this side of the Marina. Keep that in mind when searching. Good luck!

I am in Bay Central. Just moved in and got an amazing deal! 70K for marina view on the 12th floor. One bedroom. Assuming it's the same one, I had a look at your apartment in August. Very nice. When did you move in? I hope you didn't get it through FHS, because it was them that showed it to us and they've since done a runner along with Marks Falcon. edited by HereComesTheSun on 01/11/2012 Hi HereComesThe Sun I moved in late July. It wasn't with FHS. I wasn't too impressed with the agent but at least I met the landlord. The cheques were written to the landlord, so should be fine. I have a friend who was a victim of the Marks Falcon Scam. She said her cheques were made out to Marks Falcon. Probably something to watch out for. Always make cheques out to the landlord. Bay Central is great. I think you get a great deal for where you are in the Marina. Originally, we really wanted to be in Al Majara because of the facilities and the view, but in the end we got a better view with decent facilities still ( not as nice as Al Mujara) for about 20,000 AED less, so can't complain!

I know, isn't it ridiculous? Like they are boasting the loo as a unique amenity :) Love, love Park Island. The facilities are great and the views are monstrous! They are indeed constructing a mosque directly next door, but I am up before the first prayer call so I am not concerned. Anyway, the speakers across, at Murjan in JBR are loud enough to hear. I'm not bothered by prayer calls, you can't move 2 feet in AD without hearing one, after a while you tune out to them anyway. I'm going to take a drive down on Friday for some looking, we've only 1 maybe 2 weekends to get something organised so I really need to have it narrowed down before chatting to agents. Yes a loo is a unique amenity indeed, also ceramic tiles are a feature!! Actually LW I wasn't thinking of the call to prayer, rather the road congestion around there at prayer times when it is built. This one is particularly beautiful and large, and will no doubt be popular around the marina, maybe there will be an increase in traffic and a car park on the doorstep of PI. Just a thought anyway. Good luck and Happy Hunting. edited by Alismum on 01/11/2012

We recently moved into 23 Marina and love it - we have been affected a bit by the roadworks but not too bad - it is just coming home at 7pm-ish that we have to queue but we have started coming off SZR at the previous junction and that isn't too bad. So access in terms of getting on and off SZR is very good. Spacious apartments (we have a 3 bed and it is quite huge - at least compared to our old apartment) and nice pool and gym. Other buildings that we really liked when we were looking were Park Island (only drawback was not much storage space but the building is fantastic) and Marina Tower.

The Emaar towers are good, promenade, marina quays, al majara and park island. But as the others have said, pay special attention to the proximity of the mosque to some of the park island apartments. I run by it most mornings, and some of those apartments are just feet from the mosque. I really like the look of Silverene too and you have direct access onto SZR and you are so close to the mall and the yacht club too. You will love the marina! FFx

Oh that's really helpful Beebers thanks for that, funnily enough I was looking at Park island it looks nice, of course it's hard to tell from the photos on Dubizzle, why on earth would you take a photo of down the toilet or the inside corner of a shower cubicle?? We used to live around the Yacht Club area and loved it. It's finished so there's no construction going on, easy (walking) access to nearby bars/restaurants, supermarkets (Al Maya/Carrefour/Waitrose), pharmacies, cinema and shops (Marina Mall), SZR (both directions), JLT metro station, etc. The Marina itself is right on your doorstep, so good for walking/jogging, everything at JBR is just a 5-10 minute walk over the nearest bridge, and JLT is just over the metro walkway. Traffic was never an issue going out in the morning, and was never much of a problem in the evening due to the proximity of the SZR entrance/exit. There's also a constant availability of taxis. I'd definitely recommend it. There's a nice Emarr development there called Al Majara, but plenty of other towers to choose from as well. Just have a walk around. I always find this map useful for when scanning Dubizzle: http://www.dubaimarinarealty.com/images/DubaiMarinaBuildingMap.jpg edited by HereComesTheSun on 01/11/2012 edited by HereComesTheSun on 01/11/2012 You are a legend, thanks for this!

wow that's coming up then! The best simple advice I can give is to avoid the "Tall" block. i.e. princess tower, Ocean Heights, that area. Tons of road work there which can be a nuisance. There is one building that seems a bit more accessible in that area, and that's 23 Marina. Finishings also look lovely. Also, try and look for building which are between the actual marina and sheikh zayed road. Getting in and out of these buildings are not subject to traffic of JBR, or the traffic on the bridges that cross the Marina. I think my favorite buildings are the Silverene, Park Island, and any of the Trident projects, as far as fit out and facilities + accessibility. Another building that looks really neat is the Atlantic, but I doubt it will be ready by your time frame. You could also consider one of the original 6 Emaar Towers (Yass, Murjan, Fairooz, etc) which are by the Marina Walk area. Good luck, it can be overwhelming! Oh that's really helpful Beebers thanks for that, funnily enough I was looking at Park island it looks nice, of course it's hard to tell from the photos on Dubizzle, why on earth would you take a photo of down the toilet or the inside corner of a shower cubicle?? Like Beebers said, the Emaar six towers and all the Trident buildings are renowned. There is a huge mosque being constructed right next to Park island, so check this out as well. I really like Silverene, and have to agree with Amelia about JBR.. Perhaps look at Dubizzle, sometimes you can deal with the landlord directly, it should say in the ad. I think getting out in a morning shouldn't be so much a problem, but it can get a bit congested in some parts in the early evening near the bridges/construction.

I would suggest taking a drive around the area so that you can gauge what is around the buildings, e.g. construction or road works, mosques, etc. and which ones give you the best access and least noise. Around the Dubai Marina Yacht Club/Radisson Hotel area seems to be OK. If you go into any of the buildings, security should be able to tell you if there is anything available. I know it's not everyone's choice but we have been in JBR for four and a half years and love it. Although there is a lot going on around us, we don't tend to hear it or be bothered by it. All depends where your apartment is. Good luck !

Morning ladies, After reading all the comments on my previous post we've decided that Dubai Marina is probably the best option for us at the moment. Having just moved out of a villa last year and getting rid of a lot of our stuff I couldn't face having to replace it all again!! The amount of towers there is vast and I'd really appreciate any feedback from residents there (past of present) who can give some recommendations on where to start. Is is possible to avoid commission and go direct to the landlord? Also what is traffic like in the mornings, DH normally starts around 6.45am and will be heading into Dubai (around the old Metropolitan area) We'll need to move in by the first week of December, then I can get unpacked and start to think about Xmas!!
