I never used to get food poisoning. Up until 2 years ago I'd never had it. I've been sick twice from food here. Once was takeout... so it happens. But last night I ate at Chili's in Garhoud, and I have had THE worst gut today. At a chilis! not something you expect. And here's the kicker... I had a vegetarian meal. So unhappy... Food poisoning is part of life in Dubai. You can expect to get it at least once a year if you eat out regularly. Food hygiene and the hygiene of restaurants and eating places are not regulated very strictly here and no one sues,so they get away with these things. Keep your medicine cabinet well stocked for these occassions. Hope you get well soon.

I am a vegetarian and when eating out regularly or buying sandwiches / salads I can say I get about three bouts a year! It is from the unproperly washed veg/ salad or someones hands.. I once got the most awful case of campylobacter from ONE mouthful of a cappucino made with milk that was bad- I was really very ill (lost nearly 10 kilos in 10 days so not all bad though :D). Hummus on buffets is the worst culprit I read somewhere. So sorry vegetarian food is no better sometimes than meat or fish. I cut down how often I eat out now or buy ready made foodstuffs as it seems the only answer! Poor you though hope you feel better soon.

But last night I ate at Chili's in Garhoud, and I have had THE worst gut today. At a chilis! not something you expect. And here's the kicker... I had a vegetarian meal. So unhappy... I think Chilis got closed down in one of their AD locations for food hygiene. And it doesn't matter if its vegetarian or not because unfortunately most food poisoning comes from dirty hands (some of the worst foods for food poisoning is actually salad)
