We are just about to start the process of cancelling our visa's as we leave Dubai in 2 weeks to return home. It looks as though our visa's/emirates id will be cancelled before we sell the car. Does anyone know if we are able to sell the car without Emirates ID?

Just asked this from a company I use for my car registration renewal.... They say seller's Emirates ID is not required for ownership transfer within Dubai... However if you sell the car to someone from any other emirates then it will be required... Hope this helps...

I think if you have it - even thought it has expired/cancelled you may be ok.

I agree Dally. That works in Dubai. There are some centers which are more friendly and willing to take an alternate ID.

Just had friends go through this, technically yes but possible without. His visa was cancelled months ago and has been doing visa runs (not sure about legalities) but he got away with it. He had copies of expired visa and had to jump through hoops girl at desk just kept say "I.D. I.D" etc and no matter how many times he explained she wouldn't budge to in time honoured Dubai tradition he queued again and saw a different member of staff and hey ho no problems all sorted in double quick time!
