hi guys!

What can you say about the entertainer travel book?
i saw a sample of it in a bookstore, i don't think it's worth it to buy the book. :(
it seems like it doesn't belong to the entertainer group.

we went ot bab al shams again last weekend using their monthly 2 for 1 offer. It is such a great place to go becasue yes it is hot but there is no humidity. We had a room that cost us 1050 AED incl taxes (or something like that) and got the 2nd night for free. Spent both days in the pool with another 10 people who where also using the offer. Had great fun and are planning to go again in September with a load of friends!!!

SCP - sorry to hear you haven't been able to use your book and may not be able to do so. This sounds really cheeky so forgive me (!) but would you consider selling me just the voucher for Banyan Tree?

My suggestion would be to only buy it when you know you are going to use it - we planned a weekend at the Banyan Tree and worked out our costs - it was well worth buying the travel book for the savings compared to the best price we could find anywhere else, along with easily covering the book cost. We also could use a spa voucher from the body book there, and a restaurant voucher, so lots of savings thanks to these books! I probably won't use the book again, but the one saving was worth buying the book for.

pomegranate - we always saved off the best available rate not the listed rate. The Banyan tree we saved over 3000 AED in the high season as we stayed 2 nights and only paid for 1. We went to the maldives and went for 10 days and saved 20% each night plus breaky was included os for us been well worth it.

I had a flick through it, some of the offers seem ok but I think you'll find that the 'saved thousands' is only in comparison to the the full rate (which no-one ever pays), and most of the hotels have amazing deals on various websites, no need really to buy this one.

i have to say i agree with Efisher as we have also used it a couple of times. I took my mum to the Fairmont whilst visiting and my DH took me to Grand Hyatt in Oman for the weekend. Overall we have saved approx 4000AED. Hello where do you get this value in the region....Entertainer books are huge value for everything!

we have used it 3 times this year (Travel) Been to Bab al Shams through their website, plus Fairmont (with 4 other couples who used their books) ,Banyan Tree and the Maldives for a week- overall probably saved 7,000 AED which is fantastic for just 3 times. not for everyone but it has really worked for us so far - agree though in terms of checking it out first. I am sure next year will have plenty more hotels in there as well

Haven't used mine at all this year and won't be able to use it for the rest of the year either! I bought the book online before it was available in stores and was really disappointed when I got it. All the other books are great though- and like Yorky said, if you can find one or two deals you can use, then you've made up for buying the book...jsut wait until the books available to see what deals are there.

We will not use as many vouchers from the travel book as we do from the others. So far we have only used one but that saved us over 3000 dhs so it was still worth buying the book. if we manage a long weekend in Oman before the end of the year we will probably use more vouchers but next year I will probably have a look at the display copy first and only buy when we want to use something.

Really? We buy it every year and with all the visitors we have we find we quickly make our money back in savings! We also bought the Travel book this year and have already saved AED2,000 at the Banyan Tree and AED1,000 at the Fairmont in Abu Dhabi so I'd definitely recommend it!

We only bought the original one this year and TBH we have not really found it worth buyig at all. Each year we say we won't be buying it again but I think next year will be the year we stop buying it. :)

Is that the one with hotel deals? If so, I looked at it and decided it wasn't worth buying. :)
