Hi everyone

I have been trying unsuccessfully to find a tailor/dress maker/designer in Dubai to make some dresses for me and I’m hoping someone can help.

I have tried many of the recommended tailors (Lobo, Dreamgirls, Deepak’s, Coventry etc) and have been disappointed with them all. I'm not sure if something is being lost in translation but even when I've asked for a copy of an existing dress everything has been baggy and badly cut and the selection of materials/advice on materials has been limited.

Back in the UK, I went to a local designer who made casual and work dresses. She was able to recommend and source good quality fabrics and everything was fitted correctly and the quality of the work was excellent.

Does anyone know of a designer/dress maker/tailor in Dubai who might be able to provide a similar service? I'm looking for someone who can either design a casual or work dress, or make a copy if need be, advise on the materials that would be suitable and source them. I'm also looking for someone who understands the type of fit and cut that I am looking for as I'm reluctant to keep arguing with the tailors about this and continue wasting my money.

Any suggestions would be really helpful!

Thanks

Thanks - I don't mind paying more if it's good and what I actually asked for!

Stiches in Village Mall in Jumeirah have a good reputation but you'll pay much more than you would for your standard side-street Satwa tailor.
