Flydubai only offer refund in VOUCHERS?

I have had to cancel my maid’s flight on Flydubai. Looked at T&C and there was a AED200 charge each way to cancel. Fair enough. Looked at Condtions of Carriage under refunds and it said that after AED200 deducted a refund would be paid....

Called them up and they told me that only Vouchers for Flydubai would be issued. I told them that under the fare conditions, specifically refunds, there was no mention of this. The lady on the phone said look under the section ‘Schedule’ right at the end.....Low and behold it stated that refunds would be vouchers!

Do you think they are misleading their customers? Shouldn’t the issuing of vouchers be located under the Refund section of Conditions of Carriage?

I feel real hard done by as I paid cash for this ticket. They have said there is nothing they can do about it except send an email. Having done further investigations, many disgruntled customer are waiting for a response to their email.

Any suggestions?

I had booked 2 flights with them and 2 weeks before I was due to fly they cancelled the flight. They refused to give me my cash back and would only give me a voucher which I told them that and I wasn't going to use. I will never book a flight with them again.

Most low cost carriers do not give any refund at all so consider yourself lucky with your voucher.

i booked to Beirut a few years ago and then had to cancel and was given vouchers for the refund. It is a pain, but you can book to any other destination with the vouchers. So we ended up going to Muscat instead. If you can utilize the vouchers for another trip then its not so bad, but if you aren't planning on going anywhere then it is a rip off. Think they have so many months validity

Have not experienced this... thanks for warning though...! We checked fares this summer and Fly Dubai is more expensive than Emirates now, that too without on-flight meals...! It seems they are in for a nose dive soon...!
