Ok ladies I'm in a big panic at the moment, with September around the corner, my 4 year old still have no place for September Fs2!!!! He has had several assessments but ends up on the wait list!

Have any of you been in a similar position and still got a place in September? And if I don't get a place for September, what are my options then? Home schooling?

Help I'm starting to get slightly scared now....

DS is having an assesment for FS2 on Monday at the Raffles South Campus. We did a tour yesterday and was told that they have a number of spaces available. The fee is on the high side, IMHO, at AED1000, but is deducted from the fees apparently if you are offered and accept a place. I had to fill out the online application before they would give me a time for the assesment. HTH

Willow are offering an equivalent FS2. They have a British Degree Qualified Teacher EYFS experienced who is heading up the class. Know this because my friend's child didn't get a place in school, so he is staying on until he gets a space.

[b'>Several nurseries do FS2 purely because of children in your situation[/b'>. They will provide everything your child needs until you find the place you want. Keep contacting the schools - Star Schools and The Royal are both good. Have you asked for feedback on the assessments? I thought so. I know childrens Garden do fs2. TBH its so easy to teach children this age I would have no worries about home schooling for a year until a space came up at a school of your choice.

Thank you ladies, I've gotten in touch with star in merdif and the have places, they are doing assessments in Aug, trouble is I'm away till 2nd sept. GEMS royal offered me an assessment for this coming Sunday but the fees are on the high side and we have just had another baby. Starting to think it would be easier at home! I will take assessment for sunday and raise the funds for fees. Can you provide me details of nurseries that offer FS2 please, just in case...

Try CAS - www.casdubai.com The Collegiate American School opens its doors in September, so it might still be easy to find spots. It is located in Umm Sequim, not far from Choitrams. Also, the Children Garden in Jumeirah offers FS2. I know for sure, since a friend has a 4.5 years old and he will go there next year for FS2. Not sure whether they still have space, but worth a call. Good luck!

Do nurseries here have FS2? or just make him do FS1 again? Repton is a little out of my budget when it comes to fees :( no, nurseries dont do FS2, you either homeschool or take a place anywhere. Star in Mirdif and Royal Dubai School have places, not because they are bad schools, just many people are moving kids to a new school in DSO. He wont be allowed to do FS1 again if hes to old I dont think, by law they must be in school at that age - or atleast thats what Ive been told.

This is very late to be looking for a seat at an elementary school in Dubai. You may have to take a year in a school that you are not crazy about and then apply at a top tier school at the first part of 2012 when many registrations open. My expert advice is to take a seat where ever you find it and remember your child is quite young and nothing will be detrimental to his education at this point. Then when registrations open early next year apply so that you are first on the waiting list and not last on the waiting list. I do this for a living, please take whatever spot you can get at this point.

Hi there, my son is at Star International School in Mirdif, and they do have FS2 places available, as of the last I heard at the end of term. The school is open for tours and applications over the summer, too. It recently had a good KHDA inspection report, and I'm happy with my son returning there in September.

You could try Repton, they always have spaces. I don’t think you will have much luck with any of the good schools as they normally have long wait lists. Failing that you could keep him at nursery for a year until hes in year 1.
