I stayed at the Rotana a year or so ago and was not impressed by the room or the service we recieved. Stayed at the Meridien Al Aqah (ages ago) and loved it.

For me - ONLY the Le Meridien Al Aqah which is a short distance from Fujeirah but the best hotel.

Hi there, if it's just for one night recommend Sandy Beach Hotel and Resort. _http://www.sandybm.com/ The rooms feel a bit like bungalows just without a kitchen and are somewhat basic but they are clean and ok for one night. The really nice thing is that the resort is located directly at Snoopy Island which is basically a rock in the sea. However the area around the rock is a great snorkeling spot and you can reach it easily from the beach of that resort, it is just a few meters. For dinner you can head to one of the 5 star hotels …

LOL There are three Al Aqah hotels! Al Aqah is the name of the village where they are located. - Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort - Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort - Fujairah Rotana Resort and Spa - Al Aqah Beach

Al Aqah is separate from the Rotana your link only states as being located on al aqa beach - google al aqah beach resort, you'll get a different hotel. It's a Meridian property, not a Rotana. edited by marycatherine on 25/09/2011

Is the al aqua beach resort and spa not a Rotana? We stayed in it last year. No, the Rotana is next door to it. It's the Le Meridian Al Aqua Beach Resort & Spa (quite a mouthful)...a different chain. Lovely spot though. :)

My husband and I were actually very disappointed with the Rotana when we stayed there last year. First room we were shown to was flooded but we were left with it for 1 hour before they sorted us another room. Nowhere to put our bags...it was just very badly managed. We were on our first wedding anniversary. We could have kicked ourselves as we actually spent our honeymoon next door in the Al Aqua Beach Resort & Spa, Fujairah! Fantastic! Was perfect for a couple - lovely restaurants (and there are vouchers for the restaurants in the Entertainer Fine Dining)!! I would put Rotana down at bottom. Don't know Hilton, but would imagine it to be loads better than Rotana.

Never been to Hilton, maybe because only been with kids and Rotana is excellent for families, kids club kid’s water slide in to the big pool etc, because of that I think Hilton might be a better option for you, as Rotana is more family orientated, but the Rotana has a very nice SPA....and there are always lots of people without kids there as well, maybe someone that's been to both will know better... Miramar suppose to be a nice as well, never booked it because no kids club which you might like ;).
