I know they have always been frowned upon (Despite the fact that sooooo many people offer to bore you a well), but I recently heard that they have now been banned and anyone caught with one will be fined 50,000dhs.

Has anyone else heard this or can give me some more information?

We are currently changing our garden from well water to municipality water. The ahem well water is too salty and is causing patches of horrid black and green fungus, both factors killing most of the plants in our garden. A costly lesson learned.

Tampering with the water table is really bad for the environment and we have always been told that you need permission from ministry of environment to have one (it is mentioned on their website too) so it is great that it is being taken seriously...
