Here are some advices from me (Lebanese lady) :D
Mezza House near Al Manzil Hotel (opposite souk albahar) has the best fattoush and grilled mashawi, actually this is the only lebanese restaurant which I really enjoy its food.
My friends also like to go to Abdulwahab in Souk Al Bahar. I don't recommend Burj Al Hamam, I didn't personally like their food.
Zahr Al laymoun restaurant in Souk Al bahar is also very nice and comes in grade 2(in my opinion) after Mezza House (For food but not view).
Of course Al Hallab is the most famous sweets in Lebanon but their branch here is not to compare with their sweets in Lebanon. If you taste the fresh lebanese one, you will think all what is served here is not edible!! Anyway, Al Hallab here is still better than others. My recommendation for sweets will go to Wafi Gourmet at Wafi Mall, that is really yummy :)
If you want recommendations for Shisha, let me know!!
For future reference, the Reem Al Bawadi on Sheik Zayed road has a sweets shop next door to the main restaurant. There is also a sweets & coffee shop there called Crumbs which looks really nice.
When we get a craving for something sweet, we go to the "Faris" shop. They have a kanafa which is, in my opinion, the best in town. You buy it by the kilo, and it is sliced into rather largest squares of a cheese base with a crunchy kanafa topping and then a simple sugar syrup on top with pistachios. They sell tons of this stuff in the evenings. They have a shop by the Mall of the Emirates on the "strip" of shops to the right of the mall if you are facing it from SZR; there is one on diyafah in Satwa, and there is one in Dierra on Murakabat (I think that is the name). They have other sweets, but this one is the one I crave.
Believe it or not I really love the baklawa at the Union Coop. You could get them in trays near the bakery section. I could eat the whole tray, they are so addictive and so yummy.
I have bought some from the Lebanese bakery on same row as Eat n Drink by choitrams/union coop and I thought they were good. also will present them nicely in cellophane with ribbon if you want them for a gift.
I am no expert though but I was impressed

We are going out for sweets in 20mins and don't know where to go. We live in Jumeirah. I have done some research on time out and this forum. Not sure where to go. The board here recommends some places in Diera, but didn't want to travel there. Time Out from 2009 suggests Al Reef. Any suggestions???
