Good idea if I do say so myself:-)
Our non-stick sandwich maker has had a lot of the teflon coating removed due to the maid's vigorous scrubbing. Was thinking I needed to get a new one as it was getting very difficult to remove sandwiches prepared in it. Then I thought I could try baking paper! I put a sheet each side of the sandwich and did not butter the sandwich on the outside, as recommended (I did put some on inside) and put the sandwich in the sandwich maker.
Result: a perfect sandwich and there's almost no clean up of the sandwich maker - just a tiny bit of cheese oozed out! I'm so pleased: sandwich makers are not that expensive to replace but it's such a shame to throw these things out when they are still working. I'm going to try this next with the waffles maker as that's also been denuded of it's non-stick coating.
