Just what is it with the voice over artistes???? Today was the final straw.
So who know what cackies are?
Or what kind of word is gastronomical?
Or Neeson?

Cackies are apparently Khakis, as in trousers/pants
Gastronomical is an eating experience
Neeson is not Liam but a car.

Why????? Is it just a joke at the expense of the advertisers because it sure seems like it.

Ok, its just because it seems, to me, that in trying to incorporate both european, american and asian influences they have dreamed up pronunciations all of their own. For individuals its understandable but for corporations its seems a tad odd thats all.

The pronunciation for the car manufacturer Nissan is actually Nee - Sawn, not Niss-an or Nee-san. And cackie just sounds like somobody pooed their pants. Still don't see your point. BE and AE pronounce words differently. Doesn't make either one correct or incorrect.

I'm confused by OP's point. edited by gleekfamily on 19/04/2011 That makes two of us. Not sure oif OP is mocking a particular accent or whether she needs to study the English dictionary a little closer edited by SwissGirl on 19/04/2011

The new Radio 2 morning pair - British girl paired with the new, very American guy, is kind of interesting. It certainly takes getting used to, adjusting one's ear to the different accents constantly. But it can be kind of fun.

All of these words are well known and the pronunctiation seems correct, if not American. So what's the problem?
