Ok first wash your hair again and condition it. Then you can try two things: 1 Wash hair with dishwashing liquid, condition repeat as often as needed but make sure you condition after each shampoo. 2. Buy 30vol or 9% developer (most supermarkets have a Wella one) or just use the developer only that comes in the box, mix equal parts with your shampoo, lather and leave for 10mins then rinse and condition. Repeat if needed. Otherwise go to your hairdresser who can strip it for you.

Never use dark brown as it always comes out darker, use medium brown instead. You can use washing up liquid to lighten you hair, just shampoo it a few times and it will come out.

I did this once and used one of those 'strip back' wash thingy's (specific aren't I, lol?!) - what a nightmare, ended up with a weird orangey-white hair, just awful! I would go to the hairdressers and blow the expense, chalk it up to experience and money well spent so you don't end up looking really weird!

I have been there...try a high ph shampoo like head and shoulders or something and lather it up and leave the shampoo on for a while, please a plastic bag over and heat with a hair dryer and then rinse with water (hot is best). You could repeat this a few times until your color has lightened a bit. Good luck!

i know there are products like this: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=hair+color+stripper&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=13553569730552444294&ei=IZxGTZTGFoqWhQfOweGdAg&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CB4Q8wIwAA# but you could also just go to the salon and they could strip it for you, lighten/tone it.
