Has anyone got health insurance for their parents here in dubai? I am looking for my 66 year old MIL. All the companies say they can only give a quote after a proper consultation and medical test. I am looking for an approximate annual cost, to see if we can manage it before committing.

Thanks

Do you mean someone living here as a resident ? If so, my DH and I are of the 'older' generation and have had our health insurance with AXA for four years. They have three levels of cover (their website shows their various plans) and it obviously depends on your requirements. Due to the increase in premiums once you are over 65 (it doubles) we have recently opted for their 'Local Cover' rather than the 'Global Cover' that we had before. We feel that we still have adequate cover and we pay approx. 12,500 dhs. each. Before renewal this year we contacted an agent who supplied various quotes from other companies but they were all more expensive.

I asked a similar question earlier and I was guess-quoted / estimated at - There are other options like AXA NOW & BUPA but they are extremely expensive – roughly USD21,000 for Bupa and for AXA NOW USD16,000. HTH
