I would like to know what everyone is doing in terms of allowing holiday for their nanny? She is allowed 30days. But do you give this in one month or do you split it up? We don't take her on holiday with us but she doesn't want to travel home during that time. She wants to go on holiday when we are not going on holiday. Both my husband and I work and therefore we need to either say to her that she can't take holiday when she wants, she has to take when we take or we need to get someone else for that month or place our child in nursery for that month and they only allow your child in if you pay for the full month. Please let me know what you do

I'd think if you were going on holiday too. It would be a bit of a holiday for her as well, housework would be very light when you are all away. It's like a mini holiday for her. I book the maids holidays when it suits me and when the ticket prices are not sky high. (Unless if there is a special reason not to holiday at that time, such as waiting for her child's wedding). I usually don't book my maids holiday when I travel as I need someone to feed my cats, but had I not had cats it would have been the ideal time to book her ticket.

one month all in one go and at the time of our convenience (not that there is a good time but we all settle on December as our helper gets to share a special time with her family and we cna arrange the kids ok in December) You book her holiday when it suits you, not the other way around (unless of course there is a very special reason she would like to go at a certain time )
