yes, MrsMopp ,I mean the top of it, as it is way too sunny and hot during the day. I was thinking to use some kind of shade cloth or those bamboo privacy fences but can't figure out how that will look... You can get cream cloth that goes over the top and ties into curtain style tie backs down the posts. You can buy 'shade sale' by the meter in ACE. may look a bit cheap though. Bamboo may also work. It's tricky, we had one covered in bougenvillia and spent the whole time picking petals off the tables and chairs!
