I dont bother anymore, as people at home are really negative about Dubai and always yap on how they would not like to live here, you cant do this you cant do that, i am sick of justifying that it really isnt all that bad and it is what you choose to make it, you can either enjoy your life and be happy with where you are what you have and the opportunities that present themselves, or just moan and constantly wish to be somewhere else ... me i enjoy living here, meeting people from all walks of life and dont feel that i am restricted at all Love it :) but people dont want to hear that they only want to hear the bad stuff :) Quite opposite here – my folk loves Dubai, so I have to say something bad to make a balance :) My family love it here, i find its friends who have not visited us whilst we have been here and rely on newspaper scandal like NOTW in the uk to base their opinions on, my parents visit twice a year for a month at a time and love it :)

I describe the mid summer heat by saying it's like putting your oven on and when it's pre-heated and ready, open the oven door! That blanket of heat that just hits you........

Used to call it a building site in the desert, but things have changed a bit since then.

So funny. I was just telling my friends that it was like North-America, big city, suburbs, melting-pot society. After years in Eastern Europe, small streets, no highrises, ect, I feel like I'm back in Canada... Obviously, that's just because of where I was before. I'm sure those coming straight from Canada don't think so! lol similar to what i say...big american city with subrbs..have to take car everywhere to get things done. edited by Goose on 11/01/2011
