I just paid for my maid's airfare to SL with my credit card and I noticed afterwards that I wasn't supposed to...does this mean that her ticket is invalid? Grrr, I thought I'd have another chance to review everything before confirming payment but I realized it was too late when the "next" button I pushed came up with the booking reference number!

Also, has anyone bought travel insurance from them and had to use it?

a friend of mine was denied boarding because I had paid for the flight on my cc. if you have a letter, signed by you, with a copy front and back of your credit card, saying you are authorizing the person to travel on the flight booked with this card, you will be ok.

My maid has been denied boarding because of this so maybe it depends of the person behind the counter on that day.

We have done this for our Sri Lankan maids 4 or 5 times now and have never had an issue. Coming from Colombo as well as leaving Dubai.

I have flown with flydubai twice in the past 6 weeks with the flight paid for by somebody else and they didn't say a word. I did take a copy of the card with authorisation and a signature just in case but was not required.

U have to go to the fly dubai Counter at terminal 2 with your credit card and id. They will do the verification and give u a paper back. You need to do this otherwise they will not let her on the flight from colombo to dubai. I think out of dubai she will be ok though.
