It's been weighing heavily on me & I am so concerned for a colleague of mine. Her husband is local, she is European. She gave birth to twin boys late last year & since then her husband has become violent & abusive & begun a relationship with another women. She is desperately unhappy & crying all the time. I feel terrible for her but have no idea what to advise her to do. I am very aware I have to tread carefully in such a delicate situation particularily in this area of the world however I feel terrible seeing another women suffer so badly especially with such young babies to care for. Anyone with any advice I can pass on would be much appreciated, TIA

Gilly3 If i were you I would continue to be a friend and listen to her but the only person that can help her is herself. She has a few options available to her - the first being from what I understand to be the norm here in the UAE among local families is to approach his family and inform them of the situation, the second thing that she can do is go to the family guidance section of Dubai courts they will assist her in her rights. Please take care when try to help someone in this situation, nationals sometimes take offence when an outsider is involved.
