Hey everybody

Its my first Ramadan in Dubai and I was wondering what are some of your favorite places to have iftar here? I would love to try out something traditional/continental over the weekends. I've decided to fast even though my partner thinks I am crazy

I've been in Mina seyahi....I will not recommend....not at all!!!! better to spend a smaller in some better place.... Wish we had gone to Ibn Battuta Gate or Meydan Hotel. Meydan have a Ramadan Market too. Might have to give one of them a go before going away.

I think the same is with most Ramadan tents for iftar, I hate when they basically kick you out after 8pm... Went to Ritz Carlton, hotel is under renovation so they don't have tent outside this year. They have Ramadan setting inside, it was quite nice but super quiet... Food & service were very very good and since they were no many people you didn't have to queue to the buffet... Dhs 195 and you had to pay extra for lemon & mint and Moroccan tea.

Went to the "glass" tent at Mina Seyahi last night. It was on the Marina, which was nice. Looked nice inside BUT, there was no feeling of Iftar, just a lot of ex-pats in a room, no Emiratis/muslims at all. The food was passable. It was fairly full upstairs but was nearly empty by 8.15 and it didn't start unti 7. I would not recommend it at AED160 per person. If anyone has been to a good one would like to know. Also has anyone been to the one at Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel?

Went to Reem Al Bawadi on Beach road last night - was really good. The food was good and it was good value at 98AED per person.

If you don't have this week's issue of Time Out, pick it up today! :) A couple of nights ago I went to a really nice Iftar at The Radisson Blu Deira Creek. The restaurant is called Boulvar and they have two vouchers in the time out, one for Iftar and one for a lunch buffet. The same issue also has a 2 for 1 for Azur at Raffles Hotel. Azur is excellent most of the time, but their Iftar is really great, with a huge selection of traditional Arabic food, loads of nice salads, pizza, and other nice stuff. kavsmum, that sounds interesting - a glass tent?

Not been to one yet but we are going this evening. We are going to Mena Seyahi in their glass double decker tent. Will post what it was like.
