Great thread. I'll also be in the market for a regular cleaner within the next few weeks and would probably have called this company. Thanks for taking the time to let us all know. Hopefully the good guys will end up prospering as a result of the publicity.

There's a lovely new lady who's been with helping hands for a month now, I used her last week and was very impressed. She's Philippino and I think her name is Peena or sounds like that anyway. Definitely will get her again. Also in my area its 30dhs, Jumeirah area.

I live in Meadows and am talking about Helping Hand, without an "s" on the end. http://www.helpinghanduae.com/Contact_Us.aspx The lady I am happy with is called Marsha, but I believe she may be fully booked now - I can't get her at all for Saturday, Sunday, or Thursday.

I just called Helping Hands to make a booking (3 hours) and was told it's 30 dirhams an hour, not 25 as mentioned below, can anybody else confirm what they pay? (didn't make a booking as they can't do the time I need this time round)

Hijacking ur thread a lil bit...can you all share the names of the girls from helping hands who are really good and efficient...e.g mine's name is wajira and is really efficient. Has been coming to my house since a year. Just told her once initially about how i want work done and is so gud in cleaning and ironing. So Suze can u share the name of the girl which comes over to your house?

I just wanted to thank the OP for this information, I wish I'd seen it a year ago when we first moved in to our villa. Then, I got the alternate HH company and was not particularly impressed, so didn't use them again. This week, the lady who usually comes to us wasn't available, so I thought I'd try another company. I called Helping Hand, who are a Sri Lankan company, and not only are they cheaper than others at AED25 per hour*, but the lady I have had so far is very good and works on her own initiative. The hours she can do don't exactly fit with my requirements, but you can't have everything! *Yes, I do give her a tip. edited by simpleasabc on 26/10/2011
