Any recommendations on where to go for a nice R & R at a good price..... somewhere not to far from Dubai!!

Just to add, I'd go to Zighy Bay like a shot if we could afford it! Looks amazing! http://www.zighybay.com/ But not cheap, you might get a better deal further afield.

My friend and her fiance have just returned from Ziggy Bay in Oman. I have to say it looked absolutely sensational in every aspect. The private villa with pool, eating literally on the edge of a cliff surrounded by fire. Amazing doesn't come close. Not sure if it will be hot enough for you but the money you save on flights you could put towards this.
