I presently live in a one bedroom apartment in JBR. My mother is visiting from mid Sept to mid Oct and we don't have space for her. I am looking at renting an apartment in JBR, or close to in Dubai Marina.

Does anyone know someone who wants to rent their apartment? Or what websites to check out. Don't want to pay very much. katedohers at hotmail dot com.

Thanks Di but I'm only looking for apts in JBR or a short walking distance to JBR. As my mother will be visiting cos I'm having a baby, I would prefer she can walk to and from her apartment to mine. It will still be very hot mid Sept so I don't want her passing out or trying to find taxis every day.

Maybe not quite the location you want but the Grand Mid West DG do good monthly rates for a studio apartment, a friend of mine stayed there last year and was quite happy. You can shop around for rates, they vary a lot online, the best I found was at http://www.asiatravel.com/uae/grandmidwestapartment/index.html In the end I got her a better rate than advertised by going there. Thanks Lettie but Salwan apartments is VERY expensive. Does anyone know someone personally that may be on holidays from mid Sept to mid October who would be willing to rent their JBR apartment to my mother (see my longer thread below).

Have you tried the Salwan Apartments in Shams 1? They do short term rentals of furnished apartments as far as I know. You will find the reception area of the Salwan Apartments on the ground floor of Shams 1. (I think it is called Salwan Apartments, I am not 100% sure about the name.)
