Kitty was brought to Dubai few years ago with her twin sister from the UK.

Earlier this year, her owners were relocated to South Africa and they left Kitty and her twin sister with a relocation company to finish their papers and fly them back to South Africa. Unfortunately they have faced a problem here with Kitty’s microchip and it was not readable so they had to remove the old microchip and put a new one but due to this, Kitty would have to wait for 6 months in the quarantine and her owners did not want to pay for all the cost.

Kitty’s twin sister flyed back to South Africa without her and Kitty stayed here at the vet to be euthanized (as per her owners request) but then a cat lover saw her at the vet and she didn’t want them to put her to sleep so she took her to a cattery for 2 months and paid for her stay from her own pocket.

When I met Kitty, I couldn’t believe that someone can leave her behind, she is the sweetest cat on this earth. She is around 8 years old so she will not give you a hard time in messing your home, she actually sits by the window all day but one thing you need to ensure is to brush Kitty everyday many times as she loves to be brushed. She also loves to sit on your lap and sleep next to you and she will lick your hands and toes at every opportunity.

I have taken Kitty from the cattery around 6 months ago and my aunty was taking care of her but since she will be leaving her house soon and transferring to another house with work colleagues, she cannot take Kitty with her and I need to find her another home.

I have many cats in my house and therefore I cannot keep her for myself. I wish I could really keep her because she is very friendly and I haven’t met any cat like her.

I have all Kitty’s papers, her passport from the UK with the old microchip number and I have her new passport with the vaccination record, Kitty is also spayed.

She is not shorthair but not very long, I would say it is medium.

Please let me know if you are interested in seeing Kitty.

Kitty the 8 years old girl went to her new home today, I hope this is her forever home this time. The family came last night and saw her.. and of course they fell in love with her.. I asked them to buy a cat carrying box, litter box and everything before they can take her.. They bought everything first thing in the morning today and came to take her this afternoon... I am so happy.. and they are so much excited for taking her :)

that's the problem, the microchip inside her body was broken, I mean when you pass the microchip reader on her body, it doesnt give an indication that she has a microchip, so they had to remove it.. and put another microchip with another number so the new microchip doesnt match of course with her papers so they had to redo all the papers again with the new microchip number.. It was a long story and too much furstration for the pet relocation company and the vet.. anyway all that happened earlier this year and her x-owners never asked about her after they asked to put her to sleep..

As long as the micro chip number matches all the paperwork then I cannot see this being a problem. Having a new chip doesnt mean its a new cat. I would get a second opinion TBH.

SueB, it was a big problem with the microchip. The microchip reader was not able to read the microchip so they had to remove the microchip from her body. They have then contacted the microchip company in the UK to see if they can manufacter another one with the same number but the manufacturer said they cannot do it. Since that microchip was not working, they had to put another microchip and then the problem got more complicated because Kitty had to travel as a NEW CAt with new microchip.. which means doing the rabies tests, etc... all over again like a new procedure for a cat entering South Africa for the 1st time.. Her X-owners got so furstrated because the whole microchip problem took around a month so they have then decided to get Kitty's twin sister alone as they simply did not want to pay for new tests and wait for months... so they asked the company who was arranging the cats' papers to put Kitty to sleep.. I met Kitty at the vet when she was there with the microchip problem and after few weeks, I knew that her twin sister travelled to her owners and Kitty was left here alone.. then after she stayed 2 months at the cattery, I took her to stay with my aunty.. and now.. I am looking for a home for her.. My aunty is traveling for a month now and Kitty will be staying with me anyway.. but then again my aunty's house contract finishes around Christmas time and she will then leave to another house and will not be able to take Kitty with her.. I thought, I should search for a forever home for her this time instead of waiting until Christmas.. Long story.. and I love Kitty very very much.. I really need to find a good home for her..

the microchip has nothing to do with her quaranteen period, the radies shots do and if they hav the papers I dont see what the problem is?
