wow, incredible scenes as rebels appear to have "taken" Tripoli and Gadaffi's son has been arrested... His days have to be numbered now surely..

Thinking of the people there x

Thank you Sue62, it's absolutely amazing! We're soo happy, there's still fighting in Tripoli, its not liberated yet since the Journalists are still in Rixos hotel with Gaddafi forces and Bab al azzizya is still being bombed, plus merceneries are still around. But this is the best news we had in years, we have tears of joy, its such a joyous occasion. Every single person I spoke too over there is excited and happy! 42 years of fear, and now its over! I know you were so terribly worried about your family so good to hear they are well and happy. All the best. Thank you so much Nomad, I hope your husband and family are all fine too, inshAllah they're all safe. I was really worried yesterday morning when all my cousin ran out in the streets but its amazing to hear from them now all happy and excited about the future :)

Amazing scenes on tv, wonderful to see the Libyan people finally liberated, lets hope they can all stay safe and move on with their lives now. Will be interesting to see where Gadhafi is and what happens to him........ UAE2012 must be so fantastic for you xxx Thank you Minimax17, it's an amazing day, I thought this day would never come. There's still alot of work to do but hopefully they'll capture the whole of tripoli. Plus we have no clue whats happening in Sirt too which was where alot of Gaddafis fighters were situated. But seeing all my fellow libyans smiling and excited is amazing!

There is a really good book about Libya under Qaddafi if anyone is interested. It's called "In the Country of Men" by Hisham Matar. I had heard about it but for the life of me couldn't remember the name..thanks for that will try and source it tomorrow.
