Morning all

Just abt to head out and buy couple of things at M.A.C cosmetics before I do; is it cheaper to buy at duty free? Am heading home in a few days for the summer the nearest M.A.C store would be in London and MK not planning to go shopping straight away as I have other priorities to sort out as soon as I land..

TIA

The cheapest way to do it is at the UK airport as you are exiting the UK, if you can wait that long. Much better prices there than here.

Thanks ladies for your replies. Might have to make do with what I got until I head home. Wishful thinking that it was going to be cheaper at duty free..

I remember checking some prices last year and there was no difference between the duty free and the actual shop. I'd suggest you buy it abroad, the prices are cheaper and sometimes you can get some free goodies as well, whereas here you don't even get a good costumer service. Anyways, here's the list from the Dubai Duty Free in case you want to check it and compare prices:http://www.dubaidutyfree.com/content/upload/documents/44-59_DV%20Listings%20JUL13.pdf

I always thought that only the actual "Dubai Duty Free" shops at the airport (i.e. electronics, perfumes, cigarettes, etc.) were actually duty free and all the other shops (i.e. brands, like MAC) were just regular shops like in any mall. Is this the actually the case?

Not sure about Mac but Duty Free sell special sets, like Dior etc, not available elsewhere.

I've often found duty free *more* expensive than regular stores for things like make up. Just because you don't pay tax doesn't mean you don't pay a premium for purchasing in the airport.
