We are moving to the new house and looking to buy majority of our furniture from "Marina". It would be a great deal of saving for us if we will get those pisces with a discount. I remember last year Marina was on sale starting from min 30% !! Which is great. Just ca not remember which month of the year sale starts there.
Is anyone aware of the sale time in Marina store? For any info - even a closes guess - will be very grateful. Thanks!

I just started another thread about Maison Chic, they have lovely furniture, we bought some from their RAK shop and I'm trying to see if their Dubai shop is now open. http://www.maisonchicdubai.com/#axzz1eAL3wqjx

I think one just finished at Marina a few weeks back. Guess next one will be shopping festival time?

I bought quite a bit of Marina stuff in Feb (during the shopping festival) and the discount was 25%. Am waiting until summer sales for more!

Not sure as I negotiated 30% off a single item-I certainly would be wanting that for a bulk order-but then again I am a hard bargainer-my husband (who is an Arab) leaves the showroom when i get stuck in!..and who said Aussies couldn't bargain?!

Heritage touch furniture showroom in al quoz has furniture very similar to marina, particularly sheesham wood. They are reasonably priced, and are willing to give you discount if you are buying more than one piece. We have got some nice pieces of furniture from them. They are on the same road as the new sun, sand and sports warehouse in al quoz by the traffic department.

[b'>Waffles[/b'> - so you think if we will be buying lots of things from them - we can negotiate on good 25 % off? I remember their sale is really huge though - last year the signs were saying 25 % off in the beginning and then dropped to 50-70 off by the end of the sale. [b'> Meals[/b'> - are you sure about July? Not beginning of June? [b'>Sue R [/b'>- Please give me more details on this Lucky Shop in Sharjah - we will be going to Sharjah this weekend to see some showroom for wall painting/decorating and might drop by Luck too -) Take the National Paints exit off Emirates Road and turn L at the roundabout. All the way down to the next roundabout and turn L. Follow road to end and do a U turn, then take first R. Ahead on L you will see three yellow-ish warehouses. You can park outside. Lucky's is quite an experience - some like it, some not. Everything we've had has been great. They will fumigate, stain and polish to your liking and any problems afterwards they will sort out. Delivery free of charge. Don't wear your best clothes - it's dusty and dirty, full of nooks and crannies!

I loveMarina stuff, but they are mostly very expensive and have found them unwilling to budge on price, even on damaged last pieces. Why not try somewhere like Lucky's in Sharjah, which is a fraction of the price? Have bought several things from them and am very satisfied. Odd-we got 30% off a desk-it wasn't on sale and as they only had a display piece they brought us in one from Abu Dhabi with free delivery included-mind you I am a very persistant haggler! You have been very lucky then - unless they have had a change of attitude. I was desperate to buy a sofa there, but the "last piece" was badly shop soiled and they would not knock a penny off. Their attitude was that everybody would be scrambling for it as it was the last one! Their sales are good enough, but their prices are still very expensive.

I have bought loads of Marina pieces on Dubizzle. I embraced the recession and saved a fortune. My husband was not impressed at the start as he is very much a buy new from the shop or don't buy sort of a man but he saw how well I was doing and now just goes along with it. You have to factor in the cost of a pickup if you dont have one yourself but it is really worth it.

Marina normally has sales over the DSF period (which is in January) and in the Summer sales (over July/August time).

Why not just ask them-prices there are very negotiable anyway-don't hesitate to ask for their best price regardless of what is on the tag
